Whoohoo!!
We have a very international team at the Nook with DT members in Asia, Europe as well as on both coasts of the United States. Come on over Thursday evening at 5PM PST wherever you are in the world, and come play with us all weekend long!
Now I wanna share some more of my DT projects with you that I made using our awesome February Kit at the Nook. It sold out, and we've just restocked this lovely kit, but quantities are limited. So if you like what you see, definitely head on over to the store and get yours now before it sells out again.

Yes, its true....my Blackberry is pretty much implanted in my hand especially because I'm addicted to Facebook. LOL! My dear friend Susan snapped this picture of me at Disneyland on New Year's Eve recently. Here, I'm actually checking out my friend Kari's new BB Curve, but mine looks very similar!

I finished it off with a birdie diecut that I matted onto a black birdie diecut for some dimension and stability that's pop dotted onto the patterned paper so that it looks like the hummingbird is in flight amongst those flowers.
I tied some black tulle ribbon around the top of the card, and voila! Calling it done!! I know that many of the cards I've been sharing here on my blog lately have been multi-dimensional, etc. but sometimes, simple and fast is a good thing, even for me. :)
I did discover my new best friend while making this card. I do love manilla ledger colored papers, and I have often grabbed a pink or an antique white to distress my manilla ledger papers. However, I was at Scrap 'N Yap when I discovered that Peach Pastel Cats Eye (by Colorbox) is PERFECT for distressing the edges of that manilla ledger paper. Look at how creamy that distressing looks on edges of my card?? I loove it!! If you come to one of my future classes at the Yap, lol, I'm giving you fair warning now that you will hear Peach Pastel coming out of my mouth ALOT! I love the effect it gives!
Both the birdie die (which is a QK Revolution die) and the black tulle are available at the Nook or at Scrap 'N Yap, if you are local to me.
This last card I created for the Nook also met the requirements for our Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge that occurs every Wednesday over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog which was to create a "love" inspired project. Lol...you have all week to play along with us at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog site for this challenge.
I didn't use any embossing folders this time, but I did use my Sizzix Flowers #4 Bigz die in my Cuttlebug to create those dictionary flowers you see in the middle of my Circle Medallion on my card.
Here's a quickie tutorial on how I made this Circle Medallion:
Step 1:
Step 2:
Step 4:
Step 5:
Step 6:
Once you have all your mini masks laid down, you will have a very very elegant mini damask round medallion. Now you have a completed medallion circle and embellish as you like.
Here's what I did to create my card as shown.
I chose to fill the center of my medallion with flowers I cut from the JB dictionary paper topped off with one of the red Maya Road felt flowers that came in the kit.
Step 7:
I strategically placed pieces of my red polka dotted and black vine/ledger JB papers on my Kraft card base.
Step 8:
I tied some of the cream grosgrain ribbon to hide the "seam" location of where my two patterned papers met in the center of the card base.
Step 9:
Then, I placed and adhered my completed and embellished medallion in the middle of my prepared card base.
Step 10:
I added a very thin strip of black cardstock trimmed with my mini scalloped edged scissors to the very bottom edge of my card base for added interest, and to add a bit more (color) balance to my card.
Step 11: (It didn't occur to me til this step that it needed something a wee bit more)
I added some small clear bling to the middle of each of the red mini damasks that make up my medallion for added interest.
Step 12:
I chose a sentiment from the MM Valentine raffle tickets to add to the right side of my card, and completed my sentiment phrase with the MM tiny alphas that was adhered to the bottom of the card (because I wanted the viewer's eye to be drawn downwards to the delicately placed "my sweet" sentiment and away from the strong colors/textures of the center of the card.)
Here is the finished card again:
I hope you have enjoyed my mini tutorial. You can find it along with a full supply and tool list at My Scrapbook Nook in the February 2009 Class Gallery and Forum. Remember, the Virtual Crop at My Scrapbook Nook starts tomorrow, on Thursday!!!

Just stunning...as usual! Love the little mini tutorial too.
Wow, Ching! Amazing! I was wondering what I could do with that vine in the J.B. paper. I might have to use that idea :)

Fabulous work with the kit, Ching! I just love the tutorial you've shared...that card is stunning!
Now that I look at the photo of you in your beautiful layout, I have to say that I actually remember seeing you at CHA after all! You were with a group of ladies, close to the Glitz booth, and pulling a rolling tote. Oh...I should have just had the guts to stop you and say "hi" (even if it didn't end up being you! LOL!)! At least I would have known for sure! Hehehe! ;-D
Anyway, I've registered over at the Nook, and will try to participate in the challenges! I'm looking forward to it, and hope you win, girl! ;-D
Ching you are just too crafty! Your card is beautiful, I just love the colors. And your scrapbook layout is adorable!
